“They Might Be Giants” zijn de makers van dit “moderne” lied over de voornaamste atoomsoorten.
Die gasten hebben een reputatie in het maken van wetenschappelijk geïnspireerde liedjes. Je moet maar eens rondneuzen op hun site.
Hun nieuw chemielied heeft wel een leuk deuntje.
En mocht ik nu nog voor de klas staan, dan zou ik er zeker gebruik van maken.
Maar oude liefde roest niet.
En dus zweer ik nog altijd bij de elementensong van mijn oude gabber Tom Lehrer.
Ik weet het, ik heb hem hier al eens ten tonele gevoerd.
Vandaag krijgen jullie een andere filmversie. De beeldkwaliteit is evenwel een stuk minder dan die van de versie die ik jullie op 16 juli liet zien en horen.
Maar in elk geval kunnen kunnen jullie Toms lied van 50 jaar geleden (1959) eens vergelijken met dat van “de moderne jeugd”.
Akkoord dat good old Tom toch nog altijd veel charmanter klinkt?
En vollediger is hij ook.
Je moet zijn tekst hieronder maar eens controleren.
